Health Day - Vision and Eye Health

October 18, 2016 at 11.00-14.00 Health Day will take place in Tallinn Health Care College in collaboration with Estonian Nurses Union. This time the main topic of the day is vision and eye health.

Health Lectures (room 121)
11.00-11.30 "First Aid for Eyes" – Elo Olonen, MSc
11.30-12.00 "What Do We Know About the Blue Light?“ – Vootele Tamme, MSc
12.00-12.30 "Eye Drops for Dry Eye Syndrome" – Margaret-Erika Triik, Maris Käsi, 3rd year students of the Chair of Assistant Pharmacy
12.30-13.00 "Eye Health Care" – Merle Väljari, MSc
13.00-13.30 "Smart Devices and Eye Strain" – Elo Olonen, MSc
Practical activities 11.00-14.00
- Measuring eye pressure (room 128) – 3rd year students of the Chair of Optometry
- Assessing visual acuity (room 124) – 3rd year students of the Chair of Optometry
- Care for glasses(room 123) – 2nd year students of the Chair of Optometry
In addition, nursing students measure blood sugar levels, occupational therapy students instruct on managing everyday life in case of visual impairments; eye drops and over-the-counter products for eye care are introduced by the representatives of Allium Up OÜ!
